Description

EIBOS Series X: Tetras — Active Drying for Bambu Lab AMS

The Bambu Lab AMS is excellent at multi-material storage and feeding, but it has one significant gap — it doesn’t actively dry filament. Most common materials (PLA, PETG, TPU, nylon) are hygroscopic and absorb moisture even while sitting sealed inside the AMS. EIBOS Tetras closes that gap, adding genuine active dehumidification to your existing AMS setup without modifying its hardware or firmware.

With four independent, individually sealed chambers, Tetras dries filament continuously — including while you’re actively printing — so your spools stay dry from storage through to the nozzle.

Print While Drying — No Compromise

Tetras runs on its own independent power and control system, completely separate from your printer and AMS electronics. This means drying and printing happen simultaneously with no time restrictions — you’re never forced to choose between using a spool and drying it. For high-moisture materials or long multi-day print jobs, this continuous drying capability is the difference between consistent results and slow, print-by-print degradation.

Two-Stage Drying Process

Stage 1 — Aggressive Moisture Removal

An external active circulation system forces dry air into each sealed chamber and continuously evacuates moisture, rapidly bringing filament back to peak dryness.

Stage 2 — Preheating Stable Stage

Once moisture is removed, Tetras applies gentle, consistent heat to maintain stable feeding, reduce friction in the filament path, and support reliable extrusion for the duration of the print — not just a one-time dry, but ongoing conditioning.

You can set two completely independent drying parameter stages; once the first completes, the second activates automatically. Two full cycles, zero manual intervention.

Four Independent Chambers

Each of the four chambers is individually sealed and controlled — open one chamber to swap a spool and the other three remain sealed, actively drying, and completely undisturbed. This is a genuine advantage over single or dual-chamber dryers when you’re running a busy multi-colour or multi-material AMS setup.

Smart Storage Mode

Once drying is complete, Tetras automatically switches to Smart Storage Mode — the air outlet seals to prevent ambient humidity re-entering the chamber. You set a humidity threshold, and Tetras automatically resumes drying if internal humidity rises above your target, keeping filament dry indefinitely between print jobs with no manual intervention required.

No Modification Required

Tetras installs onto your existing Bambu Lab AMS with no firmware changes and no printer integration — it’s a self-contained system with its own power and controls. Installation requires replacing the AMS top cover (4 screws) and fitting new foot pads; no drilling, no cutting, no breaking changes to your original AMS.

65°C Maximum — Why Not Higher?

Tetras and Dyas cap drying temperature at 65°C by design. Bambu Lab’s own spool labelling specifies a maximum safe temperature below 70°C for their filament reels — EIBOS set the ceiling at 65°C specifically to protect both the filament and the spool itself under sustained AMS-integrated use, prioritising long-term reliability over a marginally higher temperature ceiling.

Compatibility

Bambu Lab AMS1 — fully compatible, direct installation
Bambu Lab AMS2 Pro — compatible with a self-printed adapter (available as a free download)

Not compatible with non-Bambu printers or other brands’ multi-material systems — Tetras is purpose-built for the Bambu AMS ecosystem specifically.
