Both are enclosed CoreXY printers with a similar 256 x 256 mm print footprint. The P2S is a fast, reliable single-nozzle printer and the successor to the P1S. The X2D adds a second nozzle, an actively heated chamber up to 65°C, and HEPA filtration, which makes it a better fit for engineering materials and cleaner multi-material prints.
No. The P2S is fully enclosed and manages chamber temperature with a switching flap between internal and external air circulation, but it has no active chamber heater. That’s fine for PLA, PETG, TPU and many smaller ABS or ASA parts. For large or demanding engineering prints, the X2D is the better choice.
Yes. The X2D actively heats its chamber up to 65°C in Heat Mode, which helps ABS, ASA, nylon and PC print flat with strong layer bonding. It also has a Cool Mode that brings in fresh air for PLA bridges and overhangs.
The X2D switches between two nozzles, so a support or secondary material can be printed with its own nozzle rather than being purged through a single one. That means less waste and cleaner support removal. Using both nozzles reduces the usable build volume slightly, to 235.5 x 256 x 256 mm.
The P2S prints up to 256 x 256 x 256 mm. The X2D prints up to 256 x 256 x 260 mm with its main nozzle, or 235.5 x 256 x 256 mm when both nozzles are in use.
Both handle PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS and ASA. The X2D’s heated chamber and 300°C nozzle also suit nylon, carbon-fibre nylon and PC, which are harder to print without active chamber heating. Check the Bambu Lab filament list for your specific material before buying.
Yes, both are designed to work with the AMS 2 Pro for automatic multi-colour and multi-material printing, with built-in filament drying. If you’d like to skip manual filament changes, a combo bundle is the easiest way to get set up.
Choose the P2S if you mostly print PLA, PETG and TPU, or the occasional smaller engineering part, and want a fast, dependable enclosed printer. Choose the X2D if you regularly print larger ABS, ASA, nylon or PC parts, or want cleaner multi-material prints with less waste.
Both run on Bambu Studio and can be monitored remotely through the Bambu Handy app, with live camera view and AI error detection to catch problems early.
Yes. Our team is based in Adelaide and can help with setup, troubleshooting and compatibility questions, so you’re not left sorting things out with an overseas seller.
