Description

Bambu Lab High Flow Hotend — Real High Flow for H2 / P2S / X2D

The Bambu Lab High Flow Hotend is engineered to dramatically cut print times on the H2D, H2S, P2S, and X2D without compromising surface quality. An optimised melt zone delivers up to 62.5% higher maximum volumetric speed than the standard hotend, translating to up to 30% shorter print times — with the biggest gains on large models and prints with dense infill.

Unlike generic high-flow nozzles that trade consistency for raw throughput, Bambu’s design maintains stable, even extrusion at speed — no under-extrusion, no rough surfaces, no lost detail. You get crisp edges and smooth surfaces at the higher print speed, not just a faster but worse result.

Real Numbers — 65 mm³/s vs 40 mm³/s

The standard hardened steel hotend on the H2/P2S/X2D platform tops out at 40 mm³/s maximum volumetric flow. The High Flow Hotend pushes that to 65 mm³/s — a genuine increase in how much material can be melted and extruded per second, not just a faster print speed setting that risks under-extrusion. This is what actually removes the flow bottleneck on large, dense prints.

Independently Verified Time Savings

Bambu Lab’s own testing shows up to 62.5% higher maximum volumetric speed (tested with ABS, Ø240mm single-wall cylinder, 0.2mm layer height, 1.0mm outer wall, 280°C nozzle temperature, spiral vase mode) and up to 30% reduced print time on large models (tested with PLA Basic, 15% infill, 300 × 300 × 300mm cube). The larger the model and the denser the infill, the more time you save.

Hardened Steel Construction

Built from hardened steel, the High Flow Hotend resists the abrasive wear that carbon fibre, glass fibre, and other particle-loaded filaments inflict on standard nozzles — maintaining a precise bore over far more print hours than brass. Bambu PLA-CF and PETG-CF have been specifically tested and proven to have low clogging risk even at 0.4mm. For other CF or GF filaments, a 0.6mm nozzle is recommended to reduce clogging risk.

Tool-Free Quick Nozzle Swap

The hotend uses the same tool-free quick-swap nozzle system as the rest of the H2/P2S/X2D platform — swap sizes or materials in seconds with no tools required, minimising downtime between jobs.

Improved Cooling for Stable High-Speed Printing

An upgraded cooling system maintains stable nozzle temperatures during sustained high-speed operation, supporting continuous printing up to 600mm/s without the thermal drift that can cause inconsistent layer quality.

Compatibility

Bambu Lab H2D (currently limited to matching nozzle sizes across both toolheads for dual-nozzle mode)
Bambu Lab H2S
Bambu Lab P2S
Bambu Lab X2D

Also fits the A1 series, but will not improve volumetric speed on that platform — it performs identically to a standard nozzle on the A1.

Installation

Ensure the hotend is fully cooled before changing the nozzle, and avoid touching the heat block (the lower section of the hotend) to prevent burns. Refer to the official Bambu Lab Wiki hotend replacement guide for your specific printer model.
