Description

The Next Evolution of the X-Series

The Bambu Lab X2D combines dual-nozzle versatility with the compact, reliable form factor that made the X1 Carbon an industry benchmark. Designed for makers, hobbyists, and professionals who need clean multi-material prints without compromise, the X2D brings flagship features down to an accessible price point.

Dual-Nozzle Hybrid Extrusion System

At the heart of the X2D is a mechanical nozzle-switching system that requires no extra motor on the toolhead. The left nozzle uses a direct drive extruder for precision model printing with broad material compatibility, including TPU. The right nozzle uses a Bowden setup optimised for support materials. This design keeps the toolhead light for high-speed printing at up to 1,000 mm/s on the primary nozzle, while the auxiliary nozzle handles supports and secondary materials at up to 200 mm/s. The result is easy-to-remove supports and multi-material prints with minimal filament waste.

Actively Heated Enclosed Chamber

The X2D features a dual-mode thermal management system. Cool Mode circulates fresh air for optimal PLA and PETG printing with crisp overhangs and bridges. Heat Mode actively heats the chamber to 65°C with nozzle temperatures up to 300°C, enabling reliable printing with engineering-grade filaments such as ABS, ASA, nylon, PC, and carbon fibre composites — with minimal warping and strong layer adhesion.

Intelligent Monitoring and Calibration

With 31 integrated sensors monitoring filament flow, temperature, and safety, the X2D keeps your prints on track. Bambu Lab’s proprietary PMSM servo motor samples torque and position 20,000 times per second, detecting filament jams before they become a problem. Flow Dynamics Calibration continuously adjusts for nozzle wear, filament dampness, and residue build-up, ensuring consistent quality over time. AI-powered monitoring via liveview and toolhead cameras provides real-time fail detection.

Multi-Colour Capability

Connect AMS 2 Pro units to unlock up to 25-colour printing in a single job. The dual-nozzle design means faster colour switching and significantly less purge waste compared to single-nozzle multi-colour setups.
