Phaetus EndCoat™ V6 Nozzle — The Last V6 Nozzle You’ll Replace for a While
The Phaetus EndCoat™ V6 nozzle combines a hardened steel body with Phaetus’s patented EndCoat™ coating — a surface treatment that achieves HV3300 hardness and extends service life up to 2.5 times longer than standard hardened steel nozzles. If you’re printing abrasive filaments and replacing hardened steel nozzles more often than you’d like, the EndCoat™ pushes that replacement interval significantly further.
Available in four sizes (0.4, 0.5, 0.6, and 0.8 mm) for 1.75 mm filament, rated up to 500°C, and compatible with any hotend that accepts E3D V6 nozzles.
EndCoat™ — What Makes It Different
Standard hardened steel nozzles resist abrasion better than brass, but they still wear over time — the bore gradually widens, extrusion becomes inconsistent, and dimensional accuracy drops. EndCoat™ is a proprietary coating applied to critical wear surfaces that increases hardness to HV3300 — far beyond uncoated hardened steel (HV700+). This dramatically slows bore wear and maintains a precise orifice diameter over a much longer service life.
The coating also provides low-friction properties, reducing filament adhesion inside the bore for smoother flow and less internal buildup.
EndCoat™ vs Standard Hardened Steel vs Brass
Brass
Best thermal conductivity. Wears rapidly with abrasive filaments. Fine for PLA, PETG, ABS only.
Standard Hardened Steel
Good abrasion resistance. Moderate service life with CF/GF. The standard upgrade for abrasive materials.
EndCoat™ Hardened Steel (This Product)
HV3300 coated surface — 2.5× longer life than standard hardened steel. Best for heavy CF/GF users who want the longest possible interval between nozzle replacements.
Compatibility
Fits any hotend using the E3D V6 (PS) nozzle standard, including E3D V6 and V6 all-metal, Phaetus Dragon and Dragonfly, Slice Mosquito and Copperhead, Prusa MK3, MK3S, MK3S+, and all third-party V6-compatible hotends.
Not compatible with Revo, Nextruder, Bambu Lab, Creality K1/K2, or other proprietary nozzle systems.
