EIBOS Polyphemus — 360° Rotating Filament Dryer, Now Up to 80°C

The EIBOS Polyphemus solves the problem that plagues most filament dryers — uneven heating. Regular fixed-position dryers can have a temperature difference of up to 36°C between the spool near the heating port and the spool furthest away. The Polyphemus fixes this with an advanced rotating motor that spins the spool through 360° while heating, bringing that variance down to just 1°C regardless of where the filament sits inside the chamber.

This 80°C variant extends the standard model’s temperature ceiling specifically to handle demanding technical filaments — nylon (PA, PA-CF, PA-GF), PC, and other moisture-sensitive engineering materials that need higher, more stable drying temperatures than a standard 60–70°C dryer can provide.

360° Rotation — Consistent Drying Everywhere

A geared motor rotates the spool continuously during drying, ensuring every part of the filament passes through the same heated airflow rather than sitting static in one spot. Combined with multiple hot air outlets designed so heated air never blows directly onto the filament, this produces genuinely even drying — no hot spots, no under-dried sections, no risk of the filament degrading from localised overheating.

80°C — Built for Technical Filaments

Where the standard Polyphemus tops out lower, this 80°C-capable version is specifically suited to moisture-sensitive technical materials that need real thermal headroom to dry properly — nylon and nylon composites (PA, PA-CF, PA-GF), polycarbonate, and other engineering filaments that a basic dryer simply can’t bring to the right temperature. If you’re regularly printing reinforced nylon or PC and have struggled with brittle, bubbling prints from inadequate drying, this is the temperature range that actually gets the job done.

Large Capacity — 1KG Dual Spool or 3KG Single Spool

The chamber holds two standard 1KG spools (210 × 80mm) side by side, or a single large 210 × 170mm spool. With the included extension kit, it also accommodates a 3KG spool (250 × 170mm) — ideal for bulk nylon or PC purchases where buying larger spools saves money but demands more drying capacity.

You can print the 3KG extension using this STL – https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0816/2449/8462/files/EIBOS_Filament_Dryer_Polyphemus_Extension.rar?v=1706775882

9 Material Profiles + 3 Custom Slots

Built-in baking parameters cover PLA, ABS, PA, PC, PETG, ASA, PVA, PP, and more — select your material and the Polyphemus applies the correct temperature and time automatically. Three customisable slots (M1, M2, M3) let you save your own settings for specialty or blended filaments not covered by the presets.

Humidity Hold — Long-Term Dry Storage

Once filament is dried, switch to humidity mode to maintain a set relative humidity level without continuous heating. The system automatically activates brief heating cycles only when needed to hold humidity at your target — keeping filament print-ready for extended periods without running the heater constantly.

Feed Directly Into Your Printer

Eight filament exit ports — two on the back, three on the front, three on top — let you route filament out in whatever direction suits your printer’s position, so you can print directly from the dryer instead of transferring filament to your printer afterward. Turn off the rotation function if feeding directly, so the printer can pull filament without fighting the rotation motor.

Desiccant Compartments & Sealed Storage

Two dedicated compartments hold desiccant packs for passive moisture control when the unit isn’t actively heating. An adjustable exhaust vent on the lid can be closed to lock in low humidity for storage, and silicone stoppers seal unused ports to keep moisture out.

Safety

The Polyphemus uses PTC (not PI) heating elements — a self-regulating technology that can’t run away to open-flame temperatures, unlike some cheaper heating methods. Without fan cooling, internal temperature can only reach approximately 200°C even in a fault condition. The full housing is made from V0-rated fire-resistant material, and the internal fan is monitored in real time for fault detection.
