Description
Print Without Heating the Bed
The Phaetus Arkfly Conweb Cool Plate is a build surface that lets you skip the heated bed entirely for PLA and still get rock-solid first-layer adhesion. It uses a microporous polymer membrane that creates molecular adsorption forces at room temperature — your print grips the plate without any thermal activation, and releases cleanly once finished with a simple flex of the spring steel.
For Bambu Lab H2S and H2D owners, this means faster start-to-print times, lower energy consumption, and no more waiting for the bed to heat up or cool down between prints. It’s a genuine workflow upgrade, not just a different surface texture.
How It Works — Microporous Polymer Technology
Unlike traditional PEI or textured build plates that rely on heat to create adhesion, the Conweb Cool Plate uses a microporous polymer coating that generates transient adsorption forces through molecular interface technology. In plain terms, the surface physically grips the first layer of your print at a microscopic level, holding it firmly during printing and releasing it when the plate is flexed.
This means you can print PLA with the heated bed set to zero and still get reliable adhesion across the full build surface. For materials like PETG that benefit from some bed heat, you can still use the heated bed at a reduced temperature for even stronger hold.
Flex Release — Instant Print Removal
The Conweb Cool Plate is built on a flexible spring steel base with a side-mounted, thermally insulated handle. Once your print is complete, simply flex the plate and the part pops off — no scraping, no prying, no damage to the print or the build surface. The insulated handle means you can remove prints safely even if the bed is still warm.
Because there’s no cool-down wait required for PLA, you can remove prints immediately and start the next job. This is especially valuable for batch printing and production workflows where turnaround time matters.
Dual-Sided with Self-Regenerating Coating
Both sides of the Conweb Cool Plate feature a fine, smooth texture with the same microporous polymer coating. The surface is self-regenerating, meaning minor scratches and wear from print removal heal over time, extending the usable life of the plate significantly compared to traditional PEI sheets.
An AR alignment code on the surface supports precise plate positioning, minimising setup errors when swapping plates between prints.
Supported Materials
The Conweb Cool Plate works best with PLA at room temperature — this is its primary strength. It also provides excellent adhesion for PETG and TPU when used with a low bed temperature. For higher-temperature materials like ABS and ASA that require sustained bed heat for warping control, a standard PEI or textured plate remains the better choice.
Compatibility
This listing is for the H2S/H2D version of the Conweb Cool Plate, sized specifically for the Bambu Lab H2S and H2D build platforms. For the X1 Carbon, P1P, P1S, and A1, see our Phaetus Arkfly Conweb Cool Plate for Bambu Lab X1/P1/A1.
Care & Maintenance
Clean the Conweb Cool Plate with soap and water between prints to maintain optimal adhesion. Avoid using isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or acetone on the microporous polymer surface, as these solvents can degrade the coating over time. The self-regenerating surface will recover from light scratches naturally with continued use.
