Tricolour Silk PLA — Three Colours, One Glossy Silk Finish

Tricolour Silk PLA blends three vibrant silk colours into a single filament strand, producing prints with smooth, flowing colour transitions and a luxurious glossy sheen. As each layer prints, the colours shift gradually across the surface — creating eye-catching gradient patterns with a polished, almost metallic lustre that standard PLA can’t match.

It prints with standard PLA settings on any FDM printer — no special hardware, no enclosure, no workflow changes. Load it and print.

How the Tricolour Silk Effect Works

Three silk-pigmented colours are blended along the length of the filament, with each colour transitioning smoothly into the next. As layers are printed, the colour shifts create gradient patterns across the surface of the model. The silk finish adds a glossy, light-catching sheen on top of the colour transitions — prints shimmer and change tone as you view them from different angles.

Every print is unique — the colour pattern depends on where on the spool you start, the model geometry, and layer height. Taller prints and vase-mode models show the transitions most dramatically.

Silk Finish — Glossy & Light-Catching

The silk effect produces a smooth, lustrous surface with a polished appearance that catches and reflects light. It’s a distinctly different look to matte or standard PLA — prints look rich, vibrant, and premium straight off the build plate. The silk sheen is most visible on curved surfaces and gentle slopes where light plays across the gradient transitions.

Higher nozzle temperatures (210–220°C) produce a more intense sheen. Lower temperatures (190–200°C) give a subtler lustre.

Bed temperature: 0–60°C
Print speed: 50–200 mm/s
Diameter: 1.75 mm ±0.05 mm
Enclosure: not required
Drying: 50°C for 6+ hours if moisture issues appear
