Description
IckySticky Thick CA Super Glue — Gap-Filling Gel Adhesive
IckySticky Thick CA is a high-viscosity gel cyanoacrylate (super glue) that stays exactly where you apply it — no running, no dripping, no wicking into places you don’t want it. The gel consistency bridges gaps between ill-fitting parts, bonds on vertical and overhead surfaces without sagging, and gives you the longest working time of any CA in the IckySticky range to get your alignment right before the bond sets.
When Thin CA is too runny and Medium CA doesn’t quite fill the gap, Thick CA is the answer.
Available in three sizes — 20g for occasional use, 50g for regular builders, and 120g for heavy users and workshops.
Three Sizes Available
20g
Compact size for toolboxes, hobby desks, and occasional repairs.
50g
Mid-range option for regular model builders, RC hobbyists, and makers.
120g
Workshop bottle for heavy users and production work. Best per-gram value.
All sizes include a pin cap to prevent nozzle clogging between uses.
Why Thick CA?
Thick CA solves the problems that thin and medium formulas can’t. It fills gaps between parts that don’t mate perfectly, stays put on vertical and overhead surfaces, won’t soak into porous materials like balsa before it has a chance to bond, and gives you maximum time to position and adjust parts before the bond takes hold.
Best For
Gap-filling on ill-fitting joints and uneven surfaces
Bonding on vertical and overhead surfaces where thinner formulas drip
Porous materials like balsa, MDF, and foam where thin CA soaks in too fast
3D printed parts with rough mating surfaces or visible layer lines
RC model repairs — filling and bonding damaged areas in one step
Building up material on edges and corners for reinforcement
Any bond where you need control and working time over speed
What It Bonds
Works Well On
Wood (including balsa and MDF), metal, aluminium, resin, rubber, ceramic, china, pottery, fibreglass, most plastics, 3D printed parts (PLA, PETG, ABS, SLA resin), leather, fabric, and foam
Not Recommended For
Polystyrene model kits — use solvent cement (Extra Thin Cement) instead for a chemical weld. PE and PP plastics — most super glues won’t bond polyethylene or polypropylene without surface treatment.
Thin vs Medium vs Thick CA — Which to Choose
Thin CA
Water-like viscosity. Flows into joints by capillary action. Bonds in 1–5 seconds. Best for tight-fitting parts, wicking into seams, and penetrating porous materials.
Medium CA
Syrup-like viscosity. Stays where applied with slight flow. Longer working time for positioning. Best for general-purpose bonding and the most versatile option.
Thick CA
Gel-like viscosity. Stays exactly where applied with no flow. Longest working time. Best for gap-filling, vertical surfaces, porous materials, and any bond where control matters more than speed.
Pro Tip — CA + Activator
Thick CA can be cured instantly by spraying with CA activator (accelerator). Apply the thick CA to fill a gap or build up material, spray activator, and it cures in seconds. This technique is widely used in RC building for rapid structural repairs and in model making for building up and shaping filler material.
