Prusa Nextruder Heater 40W — OEM Replacement Heating Element

This is the OEM replacement 40W heater cartridge for the Prusa Nextruder hotend — the component that heats the nozzle to melt filament. If your printer is showing heating failures, slow heat-up times, temperature errors, or the heater cartridge has physically failed, this is the direct replacement.

When to Replace

Heating failure or “Preheat error” messages on the printer screen, slow or inconsistent heat-up to target temperature, temperature fluctuating during printing despite correct settings, heater cartridge showing visible damage, exposed wiring, or burn marks, and as part of a complete hotend rebuild.

Before replacing the heater, confirm the issue isn’t the thermistor or wiring connection — both can produce similar symptoms. If reseating the connector doesn’t resolve the issue, the heater cartridge is the likely cause.

Installation

Refer to the Prusa Knowledge Base repair manual for your specific printer model at help.prusa3d.com. Power off the printer and allow the hotend to cool completely before replacing the heater cartridge. Secure with the included M3x4 grub screws.
