Flashforge PEI Coated Build Plate for Creator 5 Series

This is the genuine Flashforge PEI coated build plate for the Creator 5 and Creator 5 Pro, providing a reliable printing surface for consistent first-layer adhesion and convenient part removal once a print finishes. The plate is made by coating a layer of PEI powder onto a stainless steel sheet, giving it a distinctive textured finish that’s transferred to the bottom of every print.

Strong Adhesion Without Glue

The optimised PEI coating delivers excellent adhesion for PLA, PETG, and TPU straight off the build plate — no solid or liquid glue needed for these materials. This keeps your workflow simple: load filament, level the bed, and print, without adding an extra prep step before every job.

Note: if your room temperature drops below 21°C, applying a thin layer of glue is recommended for best adhesion results, even with these compatible materials.

Auto-Release on Cooling

The textured PEI surface is engineered to release prints automatically once the bed cools to room temperature — the natural contraction of the cooling filament breaks the bond with the plate on its own. If a print doesn’t detach cleanly on its own, simply flex the plate gently to release it, protecting both the printed part and the surface itself from scraping or scratching.

Built to Withstand Repeated Cycles

The textured PEI coating is designed and manufactured to withstand repeated heating and cooling cycles from the heated bed without degrading — maintaining consistent adhesion performance print after print, rather than wearing out after a handful of uses.

Materials Beyond PLA/PETG/TPU

For engineering and specialty filaments outside the PLA/PETG/TPU range — ABS, ASA, PC, nylon, and reinforced composites — applying a compatible glue is recommended to prevent warping and ensure reliable adhesion throughout the print.

Flashforge Creator 5 Pro

Not compatible with the AD5X, AD5M, or AD5M Pro — those printers use their own build plate designs, which are not interchangeable with the Creator 5 series plate.

Care & Maintenance

Clean the plate periodically with isopropyl alcohol or mild soap and water to remove oils and residue that can reduce adhesion over time. Avoid using sharp metal scrapers directly on the surface — flex the plate to release stuck prints instead, to protect the PEI coating from scratches.
