Bambu Lab AMS Active Support Shaft Assembly — OEM Spool Roller

This is the OEM Active Support Shaft Assembly for the Bambu Lab AMS — the roller component that sits beneath each filament spool, providing physical support while also actively driving the spool’s rotation as filament feeds out. If your AMS is struggling to rotate a spool smoothly, showing feeding inconsistency, or the shaft has failed mechanically, this is the direct replacement.

What the Active Support Shaft Does

Rather than relying on the filament being pulled to passively spin the spool, the Active Support Shaft actively drives spool rotation itself — supporting the spool’s weight while assisting rotation in sync with feeding demand. This reduces drag on the filament path, helps prevent tangles and feeding hesitation, and keeps spool rotation smooth even with heavier or larger-diameter spools.

When to Replace

Spool rotation feels stiff, uneven, or fails to turn smoothly, filament feeding inconsistency traced to spool drag rather than the extruder itself, visible wear or damage to the roller or shaft, unusual noise from the AMS during spool rotation, and as part of general AMS maintenance if a spool position isn’t performing like the others.
