Description

Compact Klipper Mainboard with Integrated Host Computer Socket

The BIGTREETECH Manta M5P is a 32-bit 3D printer mainboard designed for Klipper firmware that integrates a CM4-compatible socket directly on the board. Plug in a BIGTREETECH CB2, Raspberry Pi CM4, or CB1 and you have a complete Klipper control system — mainboard and host computer — on a single compact PCB. No separate Raspberry Pi, no USB cable between boards, no extra power supply.

Powered by an STM32G0B1RET6 MCU running at 64 MHz, the M5P supports 5 stepper drivers, selectable fan voltages, CAN Bus for toolhead boards, and eFuse protection against short circuits. It’s an ideal foundation for compact builds like the Voron V0, Ender 3 conversions, and any Klipper project where space is limited.

Onboard CM4 / CB2 Socket

The M5P accepts Raspberry Pi CM4, BIGTREETECH CB2, and CB1 compute modules via BTB (board-to-board) connectors. This eliminates the need for a separate host computer and USB connection — the compute module mounts directly to the mainboard for a clean, integrated setup. A TPS5450 5A power chip provides stable 5V power to the compute module without an external adapter.

5 Stepper Drivers — SPI & UART

The M5P supports up to 5 stepper motor drivers in both SPI and UART modes via onboard jumper selection. This covers X, Y, Z, and dual extruder configurations, or X, Y, dual Z, and single extruder setups. Compatible with TMC2209, TMC2226, TMC5160, and other common driver modules.

eFuse Circuit Protection

The M5P includes eFuse overload protection that disconnects power faster than a traditional fuse when a short circuit or overload is detected. Once the overload clears, the circuit automatically resets — no blown fuses to replace. This significantly reduces the risk of mainboard damage from wiring mistakes or component failures.

Selectable Fan Voltage

CNC fan headers support selectable voltage output — 5V, 12V, or 24V — via jumper configuration. This means you can run 12V fans on a 24V printer without a buck converter, or drive 5V LED strips directly from the fan header.

CAN Bus Ready

A reserved CAN Bus port allows direct connection to BIGTREETECH EBB toolhead boards, simplifying wiring between the mainboard and print head. CAN Bus reduces the number of cables running to the toolhead to just four wires (power + CAN data), improving cable management and reducing electromagnetic interference.
