Magigoo Pro PP — The Adhesive for a Material Nothing Sticks To
Magigoo Pro PP is a professional-grade first-layer adhesive engineered specifically for polypropylene — a material notorious throughout the adhesive industry for being genuinely difficult to bond to almost anything. If you’ve fought with PP lifting, warping, or refusing to stay put on the bed, this is the adhesive built to solve exactly that problem.
Why Polypropylene Is So Hard to Print
Polypropylene is a thermoplastic semi-crystalline polymer prized for its impact resistance, ductility, and chemical resistance — properties that make it ideal for food packaging, medical equipment, and functional parts exposed to chemicals or repeated flexing. But that same non-polar molecular structure that gives PP its chemical resistance also makes it one of the hardest materials to adhere to other surfaces. Combined with PP’s partial crystallinity, this makes it an especially difficult material to keep stuck to a standard print bed — Magigoo Pro PP is formulated specifically to overcome this.
Also Works with Other Polyolefins
Beyond standard PP, this adhesive also performs well with other polyolefin-based materials, including DOW OBC and PPGF (glass fibre reinforced polypropylene) — useful if your PP printing extends into reinforced or specialty polyolefin blends.
Self-Releasing — No Fighting to Remove Parts
Like other Magigoo Pro formulas, PP is designed to release the print once the bed has cooled sufficiently — in most cases the part can be lifted directly off the plate by hand. If a part proves harder to remove, a part removal tool (or in some cases a scraper) can be used to gently assist.
Water-Based & Safer to Use
Magigoo Pro PP uses a water-based formulation, intended to be as safe and clean to use as possible compared to solvent-based alternatives — a meaningful consideration if you’re printing PP regularly in a shared or enclosed workspace.
How to Use
Shake the bottle vigorously before use. Apply to the desired area by pressing the nib on the bed to activate the internal valve, then spread evenly across the print area. Print according to your filament and printer manufacturer’s recommendations. Allow the part to cool before removal — it should become easier to lift off after sufficient cooling.
Tip: for larger prints, a 20mm brim with multiple layers is recommended for the most reliable adhesion.
Do not squeeze the bottle — this can cause the applicator to pop off. Apply using gentle pressure on the nib only.
Cleaning
Cleaning Magigoo Pro PP benefits from a short soak before wiping. Place a damp cloth over the adhesive layer for a few minutes — it will turn white and can then be wiped off easily. Once fully loosened from the surface, wipe away with a wet cloth and finish with a dry paper towel. A wet, slightly abrasive sponge can help scrub the whitened layer off glass surfaces if needed.
