Phaetus Conch / Conch Plus Hotend for Bambu Lab X1 / P1
The Phaetus Conch hotend is a high-flow, wear-resistant replacement hotend engineered specifically for the Bambu Lab X1 and P1 series. Available in two tiers — the standard Conch with an EndCoat™ coated nozzle, and the premium Conch Plus with a silicon carbide nozzle — both deliver a flow rate up to 35 mm³/s and temperature resistance up to 320°C, well beyond what the stock hotend can sustain.
Both versions use a patented rigid kinematic coupling system that helps protect the heat break from deformation and reduces damage from toolhead crashes.
Conch vs Conch Plus — Which to Choose
Conch (Standard)
EndCoat™ coated nozzle with HV3300 coating hardness — up to 2.5× the service life of standard hardened steel. Strong choice for regular abrasive filament use at a lower price point than the Plus variant.
Conch Plus (Premium)
Silicon carbide nozzle (Mohs hardness 9.8) combined with an EndCoat™ coated heat break for double wear-resistant protection — up to 7× the service life of standard hardened steel. The top-tier option for heavy, frequent abrasive filament printing where maximum nozzle longevity matters most.
Both share the same 35 mm³/s flow rate, 320°C temperature resistance, and rigid kinematic coupling — the difference is purely in nozzle material and expected service life.
Fully Integrated — No Individual Nozzle Swaps
Important: this is a fully integrated hotend. The nozzle cannot be replaced individually. When the nozzle eventually wears out, the entire hotend assembly is replaced as one unit — this is a trade-off for the extreme durability and wear resistance both Conch variants provide, and in practice means far less frequent replacement overall given the 2.5–7× extended service life.
Heater & Thermistor — Check Before Ordering
The Conch Plus variant comes complete with a matching Bambu Lab X1 or P1 heater and thermistor pre-installed — ready to plug straight in. The standard (non-Plus) Conch does not include these components; you’ll need to reuse your existing heater/thermistor or purchase a Bambu Lab X1/P1 thermistor/heater cable separately.
Select the correct model (X1 or P1) when ordering, as the two use different thermistor/heater cable configurations.
Rigid Kinematic Coupling
A patented coupling system with high stiffness helps protect the heat break from deformation and reduces the risk of component damage during a toolhead crash — minimising both the immediate damage and ongoing maintenance needs compared to a standard hotend mount.
Supported Materials
PLA, ABS, PETG, TPU, and industrial composite materials including carbon fibre, glass fibre, steel-filled, and wood-filled filaments.

Select the correct printer model variant when ordering — X1-specific and P1-specific versions use different thermistor/heater wiring and are not interchangeable.
