QIDI Plus5 — Bigger, Smarter, Large-Format Engineering Printing

The QIDI Plus5 takes everything that made the Plus4 a strong mid-range enclosed printer and upgrades nearly every component underneath, without growing the machine’s footprint. An 18% larger build volume, a reinforced all-metal frame, precision linear rails, a third-generation 65°C active chamber, and the new Polar Cooler active toolhead cooling system combine to deliver flagship-level performance at a genuinely accessible price point.

320 × 320 × 300mm — 18% More Volume, Same Footprint

The Plus5 grows its printable build volume from the Plus4’s 305 × 305mm bed to a full 320 × 320 × 300mm — nearly 18% more usable space — while keeping the printer’s external dimensions almost unchanged. This means large single-piece prints, cosplay helmets, RC bodies, and full batch plates that previously needed splitting and gluing can now print in one go, without giving up any extra desk space.

370°C Hotend + Third-Generation Active Chamber

The Plus5’s next-generation hotend reaches temperatures up to 370°C and sustains a 40mm³/s volumetric flow rate — staying fast even when printing demanding engineering filaments. Paired with the third-generation active chamber system reaching 65°C at 550W of heating power (a 37.5% power increase over the Plus4), warping and layer splitting on ABS, PA, PC, and other engineering-grade materials become far less of an issue.

Polar Cooler — Active Toolhead Cooling

New to the Plus5 is the Polar Cooler system, an active extruder cooling accessory that functions like an air conditioner for the print head. This actively manages toolhead temperature during high-chamber-heat printing, helping prevent heat creep and clogging for consistent extrusion stability — particularly valuable when running lower-temperature filaments like PLA inside a heated chamber optimised for engineering materials.

Next-Generation Motion System

The X-axis moves to high-precision linear rails paired with a wider 9mm 1.5GT CoreXY belt, reducing motion resistance and virtually eliminating VFA (vibration-induced surface ripple) that shows up on fast prints with standard belt systems. The result is smoother, quieter operation and cleaner surface finishes at speed.

True Zero-Offset Auto-Leveling

Bed leveling uses a nozzle-contact sensor for genuine zero-offset measurement — the nozzle itself makes physical contact to measure bed distance, eliminating probe offset calibration and guesswork entirely. This delivers consistently accurate first layers regardless of bed surface texture or reflectivity.

Smart Detection & Monitoring

An onboard AI camera monitors prints in real time, detecting typical failures like spaghetti prints or foreign objects on the bed before they waste material or time. A filament run-out sensor, tangle detection (when paired with the QIDI Box), and Smart Skip Objects — letting you skip a failed object mid-print from the touchscreen while the rest continues — round out the reliability features aimed at long, unattended print jobs.

3-in-1 Air Filtration

A G3 pre-filter, H12 HEPA filter, and coconut shell activated carbon layer combine to capture up to 99.5% of dust and airborne particles, reducing odours and keeping the printing environment cleaner — particularly important when printing ABS and other fume-producing materials indoors.

Multi-Colour with QIDI Box

Chain up to four QIDI Box units for true 16-colour multi-material printing, with built-in 65°C drying-while-printing to keep advanced filaments primed for clog-free extrusion on every layer. Choose between snap-away or dissolvable supports for effortless, clean multi-material prints.

Open Ecosystem — Native Klipper

The Plus5 runs standard Klipper firmware natively with a Fluidd interface accessible from a browser — full, unlocked access rather than a closed-down implementation. QIDI Studio is the recommended slicer with pre-configured profiles, and the printer is fully compatible with OrcaSlicer and PrusaSlicer for users who want direct control over their setup.

A Few Things to Know

Full Bed Access

The lower-left 9 × 13mm area is non-printable by default to protect the filament cutter mechanism. Removing the cutter unlocks full-plate printing.

TPU Compatibility

The Plus5 can print TPU/TPE with a recommended hardness of 95A.
