Standard Replacement PTFE Tube for 3D Printers

This transparent 2 × 4 mm PTFE tube is the standard bowden tube size used in the majority of FDM 3D printers. It guides 1.75 mm filament from the extruder to the hotend with low friction and consistent feeding. PTFE tubes wear over time — the inner bore develops scoring and drag marks that increase friction, cause inconsistent extrusion, and can lead to clogs. Replacing worn tube restores smooth, reliable feeding.

When to Replace

Increased filament feeding resistance, visible scoring or discolouration inside the tube, filament grinding at the extruder, stringing or under-extrusion from inconsistent feeding, and as part of routine hotend maintenance. If you’re doing a hotend rebuild, fresh PTFE tube is always worth including.
