Everything You Need to Vacuum Seal Your First Spool

This starter combo includes a manual air pump and a resealable vacuum bag — everything you need to protect your filament from moisture for under five dollars. Place your spool in the bag, zip it closed, pump the air out, and the one-way valve holds the vacuum. No batteries, no charging, no complicated setup.

It’s the simplest and most affordable way to start vacuum sealing your filament, and a great option to throw in with a filament order so your spool is protected from the moment it arrives.

How to Use

Place your filament spool inside the vacuum bag along with a silica gel desiccant packet (recommended, sold separately). Close the zip seal across the top of the bag, connect the manual air pump to the one-way valve, and pump until the bag compresses tightly around the spool. The valve prevents air from re-entering, keeping the vacuum sealed until you manually open the bag.

The bag is fully reusable — open the zip seal to access your filament, then reseal and pump it down again when you’re done printing.

Why Vacuum Seal Your Filament?

Filament absorbs moisture from the air during storage. Wet filament causes stringing, popping, rough surfaces, bubbling, and weak layer adhesion. This is especially problematic for hygroscopic materials like nylon (PA), TPU, PVA, PETG, and polycarbonate, but affects all filament types over time — even PLA.

Vacuum sealing removes the air and slows moisture absorption dramatically. Combined with a desiccant packet, your filament stays dry and print-ready for months, even in humid Australian conditions.
