Simple, Affordable Filament Moisture Protection

Keep your filament dry between prints with a resealable vacuum bag designed to fit standard 1KG filament spools. Seal the zip closure, extract the air using a vacuum pump (manual or electric), and the one-way valve holds the vacuum — keeping moisture out and your filament in print-ready condition for weeks or months.

At $1.99 per bag, it’s the cheapest insurance against moisture-damaged filament and wasted prints.

How to Use

Place your filament spool inside the bag along with a silica gel desiccant packet (recommended, sold separately). Close the zip seal across the top of the bag, then use a vacuum pump to extract the air through the one-way valve. The bag compresses tightly around the spool, and the valve prevents air from re-entering. To access the filament, simply open the zip seal and reseal when you’re done.

The bag is fully reusable — open it, use your filament, and vacuum seal it again as many times as needed.

Why Vacuum Seal Your Filament?

Filament absorbs moisture from the air during storage, and wet filament causes real problems during printing — stringing, popping and crackling sounds, rough surface texture, bubbling on outer walls, and weakened layer adhesion. This affects all filament types, but hygroscopic materials like nylon (PA), TPU, PVA, PETG, and polycarbonate are especially vulnerable.

Vacuum sealing removes the air around the spool, dramatically slowing moisture absorption. Combined with a desiccant packet inside the bag, your filament stays dry and print-ready for months — even in humid Australian conditions.
