Prusa CORE One Smooth PEI Print Sheet — Mirror Finish on Every Print

The Prusa Smooth PEI Print Sheet produces a perfectly smooth, glass-like bottom surface on every print. If you want the cleanest, most polished first layer possible — with no texture, no pattern, just a mirror-smooth finish — this is the sheet to use.

The double-sided spring steel design snaps onto the CORE One’s magnetic build plate and flexes for easy print removal. Both sides feature the same smooth PEI coating.

The Smoothest Finish Available

No other Prusa sheet produces a bottom surface as smooth as the PEI sheet. The first layer prints directly onto the polished PEI surface, creating a mirror-like finish that looks and feels like injection-moulded plastic. This makes it the preferred sheet for presentation models, display pieces, and any print where the bottom surface will be visible.

Best for PLA

Smooth PEI and PLA are the perfect combination — PLA adheres firmly during printing and releases cleanly once the plate cools. No glue, no tape, no spray — just reliable adhesion and easy removal every time. For PLA printing, the smooth PEI sheet delivers the best adhesion and the best-looking results of any sheet option.

PETG Warning — Separator Required

PETG bonds too strongly to smooth PEI. Without a separation layer, PETG can fuse to the PEI surface during printing, damaging the sheet when you try to remove the print. Always apply a thin layer of Windex or glue stick before printing PETG on the smooth PEI sheet. This creates a barrier that allows the print to release without damaging the coating.

If you print PETG frequently and don’t want to deal with separation layers, the satin or textured sheet is a better choice.

Compatible Materials

PLA — excellent adhesion, no glue needed — the best sheet for PLA
PETG — requires Windex or glue stick as separator to prevent sheet damage
ABS & ASA — usable in enclosed chamber with glue stick

For TPU, polycarbonate, nylon, and the widest material range, use the satin sheet instead.

Care & Maintenance

Clean with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) for routine maintenance. Acetone can be used occasionally for a deep clean to restore adhesion — but use sparingly, as frequent acetone use can affect the PEI coating over time. Do not use sharp metal scrapers — flex the spring steel to release prints.
