Description

Prusa CORE One+ (Gen 2) — Faster Starts, Cleaner Prints, Easier Maintenance

The Prusa CORE One+ (Gen 2) is the refreshed version of Prusa Research’s enclosed CoreXY printer, keeping the same proven platform — active chamber heating, CHT high-flow nozzle, 360° cooling — while sharpening the details that matter most in day-to-day use: how long you wait before the nozzle starts moving, how the finished surface looks, and how clean the first layer comes out.

Assembled and pre-calibrated in Prusa’s factory, it’s ready to print out of the box.

What’s New in Gen 2

Faster First Layers

A redesigned heatbed mounting system removes the separate “Absorbing heat” wait entirely for PLA, PETG, and any other material printed at 85°C bed temperature or below — covering the vast majority of everyday printing. Higher-temperature materials also start sooner than on the original CORE One+.

Integrated Nozzle Wiper

One of the most frequently requested features from the Prusa community — the wiper cleans the nozzle before every print begins, so loose strands and small blobs don’t get carried onto the build sheet. It’s a standard, easily replaceable part designed to be swapped when it eventually wears.

New GT1.5 Belts

Finer-pitch belts than the original CORE One+, reducing fine repeating surface patterns on large, smooth flat walls for a noticeably cleaner finish.

Tool-Free Top Panel & Improved Venting

Gen 2 adopts the tool-free, snap-on top panel first introduced on the CORE One L, plus a more robust automatic top-vent mechanism — making cleaning and general maintenance faster and easier from above.

Same Proven CORE One+ Platform

Everything that made the CORE One+ a bestseller carries over unchanged — the actively heated, fully enclosed chamber up to 55°C for warp-free printing across PLA through to engineering materials, the CHT high-flow nozzle and 360° cooling for flawless 75° overhangs with minimal or no supports, and the Nextruder toolhead with all-metal direct drive.

Active Chamber Temperature Control

The fully enclosed chamber with active temperature control reaches up to 55°C, enabling warp-free printing with demanding materials like ABS, ASA, PC, and PA that require stable ambient temperatures. The active control works both ways — it can also print PLA and PETG with the door closed, without overheating these lower-temperature materials.

Nextruder with CHT High-Flow Nozzle

The Nextruder toolhead features a CHT (Copy Hotend Technology) high-flow nozzle that melts filament faster for higher throughput, combined with 360° part cooling that enables flawless overhangs up to 75° without support structures.

Precision & Reliability

Prusa CORE One+ printers run in Prusa’s own print farm, logging over 1 million testing hours per quarter with over 98% print reliability. This is the printer Prusa themselves trust for continuous production use.

INDX — Multi-Material Toolchanging

The CORE One+ (Gen 2) is ready for the INDX upgrade — an automatic toolchanging system that swaps colours, materials, and even nozzle diameters mid-print with minimal waste. Waste and priming pellets form for direct recycling with no grinding or pre-processing, there’s no waste/prime tower since each tool is fully pre-primed, and true toolchange time is approximately 12 seconds per change based on material — measured from the last extrusion of one material to the first extrusion of the next. INDX supports up to 8 colours or materials in a single print job at full speed with minimal waste.

Redesigned Filament Sensor

The Gen 2 CORE One+ includes a redesigned filament sensor that guides flexible materials — TPU, phone cases, gaskets, vibration dampeners — more smoothly through the feed path than the original design.

Upgrade Path for Existing Owners

If you already own a CORE One+, Prusa offers an upgrade kit bringing your printer to Gen 2 hardware — the new heatbed mounting, GT1.5 belts, and integrated nozzle wiper — without needing to buy a whole new machine. This reflects Prusa’s broader philosophy: every part is screwed, not glued, and printers are designed to be upgraded rather than replaced.

Open Ecosystem

PrusaSlicer and firmware are fully open-source, with the entire source code available on GitHub for anyone to inspect. Prusa Connect enables secure remote monitoring and control, and true offline operation is supported for users who prefer no cloud connection at all.

Supported Materials

PLA, PETG, Flex/TPU, PVA, PC, PP, CPE, PVB — standard setup
ABS, ASA, HIPS, PA — with the Advanced Filtration System
High-performance polymers — with the HT Hotend Upgrade (up to 400°C, unlocks materials like PEKK-CF and PPS-CF)
