Description
LED Light Hardware Package — For a 3D Printed LED Light
This is the hardware package for building a 3D printed LED light. The body of the light is printed on your own printer from a free model on MakerWorld, and this pack supplies the non-printed parts needed to bring it to life. It’s a small, useful project: print the housing, fit the parts, and finish with a light you can actually use.
How It Works
1. Print the Parts
Download the LED light model from MakerWorld and print the parts. The print needs to let light through, so the filament you choose changes the look. White or natural PLA gives a bright, even glow, while translucent filaments give a softer, more diffused effect.
2. Add the Hardware
This package supplies the lighting hardware that goes with the printed parts, so you don’t have to source it separately.
3. Assemble and Switch On
Put the pieces together following the model’s build instructions, then power it up.
What’s in the Package
The package contains the hardware used to complete the LED light build. The printed parts and any power supply are not included unless stated in the product options. See the model page for the full list of printed parts and the build guide.
Choosing Filament for a Light
Light-transmitting parts need the right material. Thin walls of white or natural PLA let light through well, and you can control how bright the glow is by changing wall thickness in your slicer. Translucent PETG is another option for a clearer, more glass-like look. Dark or heavily filled filaments block light, so save them for parts that don’t need to glow.
Great For
Desk lamps and shelf lights
Workshop and bench lighting
Gifts for makers and kids
Classroom, makerspace, and STEM projects
Anyone who enjoys print-and-assemble builds
Safety
Follow the model’s build guide for wiring and power. If the build involves mains power or anything beyond low-voltage electronics, only proceed if you’re comfortable and qualified to do so. Keep printed parts away from heat sources, since PLA softens in warm conditions.
