Description
Elegoo Centauri Bimetallic Nozzle — CuCrZr Copper + Hardened Steel
This bimetallic nozzle for the Elegoo Centauri Carbon combines a chromium-zirconium-copper (CuCrZr) body with a hardened steel tip — delivering the best of both materials. The CuCrZr copper body transfers heat rapidly and evenly to the filament, while the hardened steel tip resists the abrasive wear from carbon fibre, glass fibre, metal-fill, and glow-in-the-dark filaments that would destroy a pure brass or copper nozzle.
Why CuCrZr Bimetallic?
Pure Brass Nozzle
Good thermal conductivity but wears rapidly with abrasive filaments. Fine for PLA, PETG, and ABS only.
Pure Hardened Steel Nozzle
Excellent wear resistance but poor thermal conductivity — slower heat transfer means slower melt rates, potential for inconsistent extrusion, and reduced maximum flow at high speeds.
CuCrZr Bimetallic (This Product)
CuCrZr copper body delivers thermal conductivity close to pure copper — significantly better than hardened steel. Hardened steel tip provides abrasion resistance where it matters — at the bore where filament exits. You get the heat transfer performance of copper with the wear resistance of hardened steel. No compromise.
CuCrZr vs Standard Copper
CuCrZr (chromium-zirconium-copper) is an engineering alloy that maintains its strength and hardness at elevated temperatures better than standard copper. At the high nozzle temperatures used for engineering filaments (260°C+), standard copper softens — CuCrZr retains its dimensional stability and structural integrity, ensuring the nozzle maintains precise tolerances over extended use.
When to Upgrade from Stock
If you print abrasive filaments (carbon fibre, glass fibre, metal-fill, glow-in-the-dark) on your Centauri Carbon, upgrading to this bimetallic nozzle protects against bore wear while maintaining the thermal performance your Centauri needs for high-speed, high-temperature printing. If you only print PLA and PETG, the stock brass nozzle is sufficient.
Compatibility
Designed for the Elegoo Centauri Carbon and Centauri Carbon 2. Not compatible with the Elegoo Neptune 4 series or other Elegoo models — those use different nozzle interfaces.
