Description
Eryone PETG Carbon Fiber — Stronger, Stiffer PETG for Functional Parts
Eryone PETG-CF combines standard PETG with 15% carbon fibre reinforcement, delivering significantly higher rigidity and toughness than regular PETG while staying lightweight and easy to print. It’s a genuine middle ground in the engineering filament space — meaningfully stronger than unreinforced PETG, without the warping tendencies and printing difficulty that come with nylon-based carbon fibre composites like PA-CF.
Why PETG-CF Over Standard PETG?
Standard PETG is tough and impact resistant, but it doesn’t hold tight dimensional tolerances or resist bending under sustained load the way an engineering composite can. Adding 15% carbon fibre changes that — parts are noticeably stiffer, hold their shape better under mechanical stress, and gain improved dimensional stability for functional and structural applications. The fine matte finish is also a visual bonus, hiding layer lines more effectively than glossy standard PETG.
Chemical & Weather Resistance
The PETG base carries over excellent resistance to dilute acids, bases, and oils, along with solid weather resistance — making this filament well suited to outdoor fixtures, valve parts, and planters as well as indoor functional components that see chemical exposure in a workshop or industrial setting.
Nozzle Considerations
The 15% carbon fibre content is abrasive and will wear a standard brass nozzle over time. A hardened steel nozzle is recommended for reliable, long-term use — particularly important for anyone printing this filament regularly rather than for a single project.
Print Settings
Nozzle temperature: 200–240°C (start with a temperature tower to dial in the ideal setting for your printer and environment)
Bed temperature: 70–90°C
Bed surface: standard PEI, glass, or textured plate
Nozzle: hardened steel recommended
Enclosure: not required
Drying: dry thoroughly before printing — carbon fibre composites are more moisture-sensitive than standard PETG, and proper drying is essential for smooth, bubble-free extrusion
Applications
Automotive parts and under-bonnet components
Aerospace components and drone parts
Consumer electronics housings
Medical device components
Industrial tooling fixtures and jigs
Mechanical housings and protective covers
Outdoor fixtures — planters, valve parts, and weather-exposed hardware
