Bambu Lab PLA Matte — Premium Matte Finish with RFID Auto-Settings

Bambu Lab PLA Matte is Bambu Lab’s matte-finish PLA filament, producing prints with a smooth, non-reflective surface that significantly reduces visible layer lines. Combined with RFID auto-settings through the AMS, it’s the simplest path to professional-looking prints — load the spool, and the printer configures itself.

The colour range is curated specifically for the matte finish — over 20 soft, muted tones including charcoal black, bone white, ash grey, terracotta, lilac purple, sakura pink, and mandarin orange. These aren’t just standard colours with a matte coating — each shade is designed to complement the non-glossy surface for a clean, minimalistic aesthetic.

RFID — Load and Print

Every spool has an embedded RFID chip that communicates with the Bambu Lab AMS. Load a spool and the printer automatically reads the material type, colour, and optimised print settings — nozzle temperature, bed temperature, flow rate, and more. No manual configuration, no guessing, no failed first prints from wrong settings. Multi-colour AMS prints are seamless across all Bambu Lab filaments.

Why Matte PLA?

Standard glossy PLA reflects light off every layer line, making print artefacts clearly visible — especially on curved surfaces and at shallow viewing angles. Matte PLA absorbs light instead, dramatically reducing layer line visibility and giving prints a smooth, refined appearance straight off the build plate. The matte surface also resists fingerprints and surface marks better than glossy filament, keeping finished pieces looking clean with handling.

Nozzle temperature: set automatically via RFID (or approximately 210–230°C manually)
Bed temperature: set automatically via RFID
Print speed: up to 270 mm/s (tested with 0.4 mm nozzle, 0.4 mm line width, 0.2 mm layer height)
Diameter: 1.75 mm ±0.03 mm
Drying: 55°C for 8 hours if moisture issues appear
Build plates: Cool Plate SuperTack, Smooth PEI, Textured PEI
