Bambu Lab PLA Basic — The Filament Made for Bambu Printers

Bambu Lab PLA Basic is Bambu Lab’s own PLA filament, fine-tuned specifically for their printers and AMS system. Every spool has an RFID chip embedded with optimised print settings — load it into the AMS, and the printer reads the filament type, colour, and recommended settings automatically. No manual configuration, no guessing temperatures, no failed first prints from wrong settings.

It’s the simplest way to get reliable, high-quality prints on any Bambu Lab printer, and it’s the filament Bambu Lab themselves designed their machines around.

RFID — Load and Print

The RFID chip in each spool communicates directly with the Bambu Lab AMS and printer. When you load a spool, the printer automatically reads the material type, sets the correct nozzle temperature, bed temperature, and flow rate, and even tracks remaining filament. This makes multi-colour AMS printing seamless — load four spools, and the printer knows exactly what each one is and how to print it.

Optimised for Speed

Bambu Lab PLA Basic is formulated for high-speed printing, reaching speeds up to 258 mm/s (with 0.4 mm nozzle, 0.4 mm line width, 0.2 mm layer height). The fine-tuned formulation delivers stronger layer adhesion, enhanced impact resistance, and better durability compared to generic PLA — maintaining quality even at elevated speeds where other PLAs start to show weak layer bonding and surface defects.

Up to 30 Colours

The Bambu Lab PLA Basic range includes up to 30 colours with consistent pigments across batches. From core colours like black, white, and grey through to vibrant primaries, pastels, and specialty shades — the range covers virtually any project. Colour consistency between spools means your multi-colour AMS prints match across batches.
