Description
Basic PLA PRO — Tough, Satin-Finish PLA+ Filament at a Budget Price
Basic PLA PRO is a high quality PLA+ filament built for everyday printing. It has more toughness and impact strength than standard PLA, with a smooth satin finish and good layer adhesion, and it prints just as easily. There’s no enclosure or special hardware needed. It’s 100% compatible with the Bambu Lab AMS and AMS Lite and comes on a plastic spool, so it suits both single-colour jobs and multi-colour AMS setups.
Tougher Than Standard PLA
Standard PLA is easy to print but can be brittle. PLA+ improves on this with better toughness, higher impact strength, and less brittleness and deformation, so printed parts handle drops, snap-fits, and everyday handling better. Basic PLA PRO gives you that step up without paying for a premium brand.
Satin Surface Finish & Strong Layer Adhesion
Prints come out with a smooth satin surface, softer-looking than high-gloss PLA, with good layer bonding that helps prevent delamination between layers. It also cools well, which helps with overhangs and with printing models that have suspended sections.
Accurate, Consistent Diameter
A tight ±0.02mm diameter tolerance keeps feeding smooth and extrusion consistent. That reduces the under-extrusion and jams that come from filament diameter variation, particularly useful for long prints and batch runs.
Neatly Wound, Less Tangling
The filament is wound neatly on the spool, which reduces crossed turns and tangles during printing and helps avoid snapped filament mid-print. It’s also dried before packing to reduce bubbling and clogging.
100% AMS Compatible
Basic PLA PRO works with the Bambu Lab AMS and AMS Lite. It’s also compatible with most common 1.75mm FDM printers. Third-party filament without RFID needs its material type selected manually in Bambu Studio or on the printer.
Print Settings
Nozzle temperature: 200–230°C
Bed temperature: typically 50–60°C
Diameter: 1.75 mm ±0.02 mm
Spool: plastic
Enclosure: not required
Nozzle: standard brass is fine
Every printer runs a little differently, so start in the middle of the nozzle range and adjust up or down for layer adhesion and surface finish.
Great For
Everyday prototypes and test prints
Household items, organisers, and brackets
Snap-fit parts and clips that need a bit of toughness
Display models and figurines with a smooth satin finish
Replacement parts that don’t see high heat
Multi-colour AMS prints on a budget
Batch printing where filament cost adds up
Keep Parts Cool
Like all PLA-based filaments, finished parts will soften in high heat, so keep them out of hot cars and direct summer sun. For heat-exposed parts, look at HT-PLA, PETG, or ASA instead.
