Description
OEM Replacement Hotend for Bambu Lab A2L, A1 & A1 Mini
The Bambu Lab A1 / A1 Mini Hotend is a genuine OEM all-metal hotend assembly designed for fast, tool-free swaps using the magnetic quick-release system built into every A1 series printer. Click it off, click the new one on, and you’re printing again in seconds — no disassembly, no wiring, no calibration headaches.
Available in four nozzle sizes with hardened steel or stainless steel construction, this hotend handles everything from fine-detail miniatures to fast functional prints, and stands up to abrasive filaments like carbon fibre and glass fibre composites without premature wear.
Available Nozzle Options
0.2 mm Stainless Steel (SS) — Ultra-fine detail for miniatures, text, and high-resolution models. Best with non-abrasive filaments like PLA and PETG. Not recommended for carbon fibre or glass fibre fills as the small orifice is prone to clogging with particle-loaded filaments.
0.4 mm Hardened Steel (HS) — The standard all-rounder. Balances print speed and detail for everyday use across all materials, including abrasive composites like PLA-CF, PETG-CF, and PLA-GF.
0.6 mm Hardened Steel (HS) — Faster prints with thicker layers. Ideal for functional parts, enclosures, and larger models where speed matters more than fine surface detail. Handles abrasive filaments with ease.
0.8 mm Hardened Steel (HS) — Maximum speed and material throughput. Best for large structural parts, draft prototypes, and vase-mode prints where layer visibility is acceptable or desired.
Why Hardened Steel?
The three hardened steel nozzle options (0.4, 0.6, 0.8 mm) are built to resist the abrasive wear caused by carbon fibre, glass fibre, metal-fill, glow-in-the-dark, and other particle-loaded filaments. A standard brass nozzle can wear out in as little as a few hundred grams of abrasive material — hardened steel lasts many times longer, maintaining consistent extrusion and dimensional accuracy over extended use.
Magnetic Quick-Swap Design
The A1 series hotend uses a magnetic attachment system that makes nozzle changes fast and simple. No tools, no screws — just release the old hotend and snap the new one into place. This makes it easy to keep multiple nozzle sizes on hand and swap them based on the job. After swapping, update the nozzle information on the printer screen and run a calibration for best results.
Compatibility
This hotend is compatible with both the Bambu Lab A1 and the Bambu Lab A1 Mini. It supports nozzle temperatures up to 300°C, making it suitable for PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU, PVA, PA (nylon), PC (polycarbonate), and composite filaments including PLA-CF, PETG-CF, PLA-GF, and PETG-GF.
When to Replace Your Hotend
Common signs that your A1 hotend needs replacing include persistent under-extrusion despite cleaning, visible wear or deformation on the nozzle tip, temperature reading errors from a failing thermistor, frequent nozzle clogs that don’t clear with cold pulls, or inconsistent first layers despite correct bed levelling. Keeping a spare hotend on hand means you can swap and keep printing instead of waiting for parts.
