Compatibility

Supported Materials

The all-metal hotend supports nozzle temperatures up to 320°C, making it compatible with a wide range of 1.75 mm filaments including PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, and TPU. For abrasive filaments like carbon fibre or glass fibre composites, consider upgrading to a hardened steel nozzle to extend nozzle life.

When to Replace Your Hotend

A hotend replacement is the fastest fix for several common Kobra S1 issues. If you’re experiencing persistent clogs that don’t clear with cold pulls, under-extrusion or inconsistent flow despite correct settings, filament leaking from the heat block, temperature reading errors from a failing thermistor, or visible wear or damage to the nozzle tip, this kit will resolve the issue and get you printing cleanly again.

Installation

Allow the existing hotend to cool completely before removal. Disconnect the heater and thermistor wiring, release the quick-release mechanism, and remove the old hotend. Insert the new assembly, reconnect the wiring, and you’re ready to print. The entire process takes approximately 10–15 minutes.

Important: Wait for the filament to cool completely before removing the hotend. Removing it while hot can pull molten filament into the throat and cause blockages in the new assembly.
